We did it – we survived our first week as Marketing Interns with Hot Soup! It’s Sam and Angus here, your dynamic 2017 summer intern duo, coming at you hot with our first week debrief.
Our first week was packed: jumping into projects, eating way too much food, meeting the team… and a puppy! Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?
Peanut Butter & Jelly
We started our week on a cold and rainy Monday, a bit nervous and not exactly sure what to expect. The gloomy day was quickly overcompensated by our very own Brianna Blaney’s always enthusiastic greeting. A couple of handshakes and “nice to meet you’s” here, a little bit of interns onboarding there, and then a nosedive into projects, projects, projects. Our team brought us out of the water for an incredible lunch at the Terminal City Club. We would like to also mention the fact that our CEO ordered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich… no judgements here.
Puppies & Champagne
Somehow, despite being the two deer in headlights we were, we managed to get the hang of our work: lots of research, making spreadsheets, and sneaking snacks in between. No complaints here. Especially with the team taco lunches, coffee breaks, and let’s not forget about the puppy! Jayda, the sweetest little hound, joined us for #TGIF.
Did we mention that we have a resident Hot Soup dougie dance move expert? We had a chance to get to know our team after-hours at Hip Hop Bingo. Erin, our Senior Designer, blew us all away with her dougie dance skills and won a prize! We capped off our first week with a champagne toast to wish our colleague Justine luck for her return to school. It was the perfect send off into the long weekend.
Hot Soup Life
We are excited to say that we have successfully joined the #hotsouplife. We can’t wait for many more weeks like this one. Until next time, Sam and Angus out!
